The State Museum of Pennsylvania Announces the Prize Winners for 50th Annual “Art of the State” Exhibition.
The Aston Windsor Chair Shop had entered some pieces into the Art of the State: Pennsylvania 2017 exhibition. Celebrating its 50th year, Art of the State® is the annual, juried exhibition held at The State Museum of Pennsylvania in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. With an established tradition of exhibiting highly creative art chosen by a distinguished panel of jurors, Art of the State is open to Pennsylvania artists and craftspeople.
The below Comb Back Arm Chair, black over red, was chosen, along with 129 other entries from the 2220 submitted entries, to be exhibited at the Pennsylvania State Museum from June 11 to September 10, 2017.

The Aston Windsor Chair Shop won 3rd Prize in the category of Craft at the Art of the State Exhibition at the State Museum of Pennsylvania for 2017. The Exhibit runs until September 10, 2017.
The Craft category is defined as functional or decorative three-dimensional craft in any synthetic or natural media. This Comb Back Windsor Armchair has several coats of red milk paint covered by wash coats of black, then finished with boiled linseed oil and polyurethane.
